Renaissance Queen Costume

I really love the Anne Boleyn Grand Heritage Collection adult costume shown on the left. In this absolutely beautiful dress you can become this tragic Queen of England. Just make sure that you don’t lose your head.
Dresses of the 16th century such as those that would have been worn by Anne Boleyn and her daughter Queen Elizabeth I would have 
been made of the most expensive velvets and brocades. The costume that Anne Boleyn would have worn consisted of a tight fitting corset with a kirtle and gown that gave a triangular shape. The headdress was a cornet with a long piece of material usually hung down the back.
The shape of the costume changed during the time of Elizabeth I. The bodice was longer and the skirt was worn over a farthingale which gave it its circular shape. They would even use a bumroll which was worn over the hips to give extra flare to the skirt. The headdress was replaced by wearing jewels in the hair and a ruff was worn around the neck. This was probably not the most comfortable or easiest costume to wear. You can see an example in the Elizabethan Queen Adult costume shown on the right.
Let’s not leave out the kids. Here on the left is the Renaissance Queen Child costume. It’s a fetching purple velvet dress in a medieval style. It has lace-up front details, silver puff sleeves and a matching hat with purple veil.
